David Farrow

Here For Sudbury

Proven leadership. Decades of public service. A dedication to helping his neighbours. These are the reasons why David Farrow is running to be your next MPP the riding of Sudbury as the Liberal Party candidate.

David spent his entire career dedicated to serving others, elevating those around him. After graduating on the Dean’s List at Mount Allison University with two bachelor’s degrees, he embarked on his path as an educator, eventually becoming a Principal with the Rainbow District School Board, a position he held from 2000 to 2018 when he retired with distinction. He earned high honors for his commitment to excellence in education, including Outstanding Contribution to the Co-Curricular Program from the Rainbow District School Board and the Council of Exceptional Children (Chapter 503) Appreciation Award.

Outside of his professional career, David threw himself into community work with the goal of improving the quality of life for Sudbury residents. He currently serves as the board chair for Maison McCulloch Hospice. He also worked with the CIBC Run for the Cure, Sudbury Food Bank, Canadian Breast Cancer Society, Larch Street Kids, and the Rainbow Catholic Co-Ed Basketball Tournament, which he founded, and ran for 14 years.

His charitable efforts earned him recognition with the Provincial CIBC Run for the Cure for which his team raised over $500,000 for cancer research, the Celebration 2010 Community Sport Volunteer Award in Sudbury, and Ontario Volunteer Service Award.

He also has a mind for business, earning his MBA in 2007. He is the co-owner of FarExGeoMine Ltd., working as the CFO and Treasurer, and served as treasurer and chair of the finance committee for the Maison McCulloch Hospice. As a principal, he ran a balanced budget for 18 years. As Board Chair for Maison McCulloch Hospice, David instituted a pandemic emergency financial situation committee to track the finances of the organization. While many non-profits in the area lost money due to the economic impacts of COVID, the hospice broke even, ensuring the needed care for patients never diminished.

When elected, David will bring his strong work ethic, compassion, and community values to the role of Sudbury MPP, taking the concerns and issues of his Sudbury neighbors to Toronto with the full support of the Liberal Party. He will work to strengthen public healthcare and education, and develop a strong and diverse local economy. David believes that hard work is the pathway to success, whether as a small business owner or as a labourer.

Most importantly, David would not be in the position of serving without the support of his family. He has been married to respected geologist Catharine for 33 years and is the dedicated father to his son Wilson, recently drafted by the Sudbury Wolves.

David’s years of public service and financial experience are what Sudburians need to further their causes in the provincial legislature. His no-nonsense, honest, and hard-working approach to politics will further strengthen the voices of the Sudbury community and build on the proud tradition of the city he calls home.

Join David Farrow in his goal of becoming Sudbury MPP and give the city the homegrown leadership it deserves.
